Waterloo Housing Group commissioned Chaplin Farrant to design 41 no. new build affordable and shared equity dwellings.
Developed in partnership with D Brown Building Contractors, the site was formerly used for industrial purposes and was developed in 2 main phases.
The habitable space of the units is positioned above ground floor to mitigate potential flood damage to properties and provide residents with safe refuge during potential times of flooding.
The dwellings were constructed using timber framed methods and clad in traditional masonry outer skin and tiled roofs.
The public open space is positioned at the rear of the site to avoid disturbances from nearby roads.
