A revised planning application for a new GP surgery in Fairstead has been submitted. The future site is currently being used as a local authority car park with the existing surgery located at the other end but this building has been outgrown and is not compliant with either DDA or NHS regualtions. The new 2 storey facility will keep the surgery in the heart of the Fairstead residential area and is designed to be a sustainable building: maximising the free energy available using natural ventilation and solar energy. Brise soleil will minimise the solar gain whilst the south facing roof will accommodate solar water heating. The new building will be fully DDA and NHS HTM compliant and will provide 7 clinical rooms on the ground floor with offices, staff and ancillary space on the first floor.
We hope to receive planning shortly for this revised smaller scheme.
