RIP Code for Sustainable Homes - it was nothing personal ...

First launched in 2006, as a replacement to the BRE's Eco Homes Standard, the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) was very much seen as the vehicle to provide sustainable housing within the UK's new build market.

It was introduced in 2007 as a voluntary standard to complement the implementation of the Energy Performance Certificate.  The system initally worked on a level rating between 1 to 6, with 1 being the entry level and 6 being the maximum. (No doubt proudly displayed on the wall next to the home owners 25m swimming certificate!)
