Southwold Conversion

Smokehouse and stables coverted to three residential units

Our residential team have recently handed over the project on East Street, Southwold to the developers Gibbons Homes.

The architects and engineers at Chaplin Farrant have worked on this project to convert an existing cobbled smoke house and stables into residential accomodation, whilst creating a new build link dwelling, between the two existing buildings.

The tight site in a central position in the Conservation Area, required working closely with the Conservation Manager and the neighbouring properties, to ensure the historic buildings retained their character, whilst the linkage building was a contemporary addition.

Materials used includes a zinc roof and powder coated aluminum windows and doors.
