St Mary's School in Dorset has opened its doors at the start of term allowing 168 puplis to relocate from a cramped town centre site to its spacious new facilities which includes a large sports field and play area.
CFW architects have designed the building to sit comfortably on its site in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of Swanage.
The new structure has a curved green sedum roof, locally sourced stone and render wall and a zinc clad hall.
The building's energy use is kept to a mimum with a highly insulated envelope, efficient services and a large area of photovolatic cells.
The pupils enjoy light and airy teaching facilities with clear story glazing and direct access to covered external classromm ares with the playing fields beyond.
